I am a 1984-1988 Sidney High School Orchestra Alumni.
In 1987-88 I was a member of the 50th Anniversary Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. We celebrated the milestone year with a trip to New York City to perform at the Kennedy Center. However, the Kennedy Center was to be under renovation during our visit, so we instead had the amazing honor of performing at Carnegie Hall!
I have performed in the pit orchestra for many local high school, church, and community theater performances in Shelby and surrounding counties. Musicals I've performed include Annie, Get Your Gun; Anything Goes; Beauty and the Beast; Bye, Bye, Birdie; Calamity Jane; Cinderella; Crazy for You; Darkness into Light; Fiddler on the Roof; Four Tickets to Christmas; Grease; Guys and Dolls; It's a Wonderful Life; Hello, Dolly!; Into the Woods; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Journey to the Manger; The Little Mermaid; Mary Poppins; Miracle on 34th Street; The Music Man; No, No, Nanette; Oklahoma!; Pajama Game; The Phantom of the Opera; Seussical; The Sound of Music; South Pacific; White Christmas; and The Wizard of Oz.
From 1995-2011, I performed Handel's Messiah every year with the Gateway Choral Society and Orchestra. In 2014, the Upper Valley Community Orchestra took over performing with the Gateway Choral Society, and I continued to perform this wonderful masterpiece with them through 2018.
From 1996-2020, I was a member of the Stratford Strings, a string quartet who played for weddings, dinners, and events locally.
I joined the Grand Lake Symphony Orchestra in Celina in 2013, and continue to perform four concerts each year with this great group.
I am a charter member of the Upper Valley Community Orchestra, from 2014 to the present, performing two concerts per year with these fine musicians.
In 2018, 2019, and 2022 (after a Covid hiatus), I was invited to attend the Columbus Symphony Orchestra's Side-By-Side Program, where amateur musicians are invited to a workshop rehearsal with the CSO professionals.
I opened Studio K in May 2018.
In April, 2023, I started Crescendo!, which is a group of students aspiring to become a full-fledged Youth Orchestra, serving students in the Shelby County and surrounding areas. Our first concert was held on December 17, 2023!
